In addition to vitamins and minerals, if you want to achieve better hair growth, you also need to take the recommended amount of essential amino acids. Given below are four amino acids for hair growth.

  • Methionine

The essential amino acid Methionine is a powerful antioxidant. It is a good source of sulfur which helps in the prevention of disorders of the hair, nails and skin. Methionine is lipotropic, helping in breaking down fats for preventing the buildup of fat in areas such as the arteries and liver. Methionine prevents premature hair loss and also interacts with other substances in your body to detoxify any harmful elements. It is also a good anti fatigue agent.

  • Cysteine

Cysteine, a non-essential amino acid, is important for proper hair growth. It has been found to increase hair growth by 100%. Cystine is also a powerful antioxidant and protects the body against damage caused by radiation. Other positive effects that result from the presence of this amino acid include protection of the brain and liver from smoke-, drug-, and alcohol-induced damage. Cystine also aids in the recovery of your immune system and in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

  • Cystine

Cystine is also one of the non-essential amino acids for hair growth. It makes up 10 to14% of your skin and hair. It plays a vital role in the development of skin and hair. Aside from the effects on skin and hair, cystine may be used for treating respiratory system-related disorders and for promoting better recovery from burns and surgical procedures. It also stimulates the activity of white blood cells, which has an important role in your body resisting against diseases.

  • Tyrosine

A non-essential amino acid, Tyrosine is produced naturally by your body. It is responsible for producing melanin, the pigment that gives color to your skin and hair. Tyrosine is vital to your body’s thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands and also to its overall metabolism. It also aids in the production of white and red blood cells, can improve your moods, and is used for the treatment of anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

Amino acids, both essential and non essential, have an important role to play in the growth of hair and also in the overall health condition of your body. It is best to get these amino acids in the amounts that are according to your body needs for increasing the beauty of your hair and for living a fuller and healthier life.

I have 7 areas on my scalp that have recently gone bald, the trichologist has suggested the Tyrosine Amino – however i am about to try all three plus Hair Nutrition which has vitamins in it to see if this helps with the hair growing back.
