A new hair replaces every strand of hair on our head at some point, and a disturbance in this cycle results in hair growth problems.

Hair loss is a common problem that results from a scalp infection, hormonal imbalance, or emotional and physical stress.

Castor Oil Remedy

Aside from being a natural home remedy for a number of skin problems, constipation, arthritis, castor oil is also an effective product for maintaining healthy hair.

Benefits of Castor Oil

•          Castor oil is a source of Omega-9 fatty acids which help moisturize the hair and the scalp preventing dryness.

•          Regular application of castor oil to your scalp and hair roots will promote regrowth of hair within months. It will also help to thicken the thinning hair.

•          Castor oil can reduce and prevent damage.  It can also mask hair damage while trying to improve the health of your hair.

•          You can experiment with adding a small amount of the oil to your conditioner for a deep conditioning treatment. However, you’ll have to find out the amount of castor oil to use to avoid greasy hair. You may want to start with a teaspoon or less.

•          You can mix castor oil with other oils to still get the benefits but avoid the super-thick consistency.  Mixing it with sweet almond oil will make it a lighter oil that is much easier to spread and has a nice scent.

•          You can also experiment with using castor oil for hair ends. It will help them become shiny and mask the appearance of frizzy, damaged, and split ends. With the passage of time, as you trim the damaged parts of your hair, you’ll notice that it won’t split as easily. Since the oil is very thick, you may want to mix it first though.

Castor Oil Hair Growth Treatment

Given below is a castor oil treatment that works well for people experiencing hair loss or hair thinning:

1.         Apply the oil to your scalp and hair roots.

2.         Wear a plastic cap.

3.         Use a towel to wrap your hair.

4.         Leave the oil in your hair overnight.

5.         In the morning, shampoo your hair for removing the oil making sure that your scalp is clean.

You would want to use this castor oil hair growth treatment once a week for six to eight weeks to notice a difference in hair loss or thinning. Don’t use castor oil full-strength to other areas of your hair, as it may be difficult to rinse off thoroughly due to its consistency.
